“What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” - Napoleon Hill
Amy Kao is proud and honored to represent her pageant sisters as Miss Teen International Queen of Queens. As a NYC Carnegie Hall and Talent America winner, Amy has graced the covers of Prom Guide Magazine and Next Step magazine. Currently a Dean’s List Honor student at Carnegie Mellon University studying Business Administration and Policy and Management, Amy’s ultimate dream is to start her own philanthropic/non-profit organization. Meanwhile, her immediate endeavor is to enter a career in business management or policy-related field.
As a student who firmly believes that those who enjoy the privilege of education also have the responsibility of spearheading social improvements, Amy founded the People to People International University Chapter of Carnegie Mellon during her first semester of college with the mission of providing philanthropy services to both local and global communities while advancing tolerance, international understanding, and friendship through people-to-people contacts. Meanwhile, she is also a leader member in her school’s Business Association, Chamber Orchestra, and Student Senate.
For Amy, volunteering has no limitations and the opportunities to help change the lives of others are endless. Whether it be local or global, Amy believes that service provides an excellent outlet for people to look beyond themselves and ignite the spirit of goodwill within themselves. In the past, she has exemplified her spirit of volunteerism by spending fifteen days in North Carolina building houses for Habitat for Humanity for the homeless, emceeing the New Jersey Relay for Life Charity Show on behalf of the American Cancer Society, directing a charity fashion show, and traveling to Italy to perform in many benefit concerts in St. Marco’s Square, where she was fortunate enough to meet Pope Benedict and the Prince of Monaco! Because she strongly considers volunteerism as the key to igniting the flames within each and every person, Amy intends to dedicate her reign as Teen Miss International Queen of Queens to ignite the spark of volunteerism in others, expanding the luminous flicker of light into a torch of hope, paving the path for a bright future.
