If you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams, and endeavor to live the life which you have imagined, you will meet with success unexpected in common hours. - Henry David Thoreau

As the chosen 2009 International Mrs. Queen of Queens, Melanie Cholka is elated and honored to represent the married women of Wisconsin and the world over. She adores her husband of eleven years, Brian, and their two wonderful sons: Adam and Aaron. She feels her most important accomplishment is their successful marriage and loving family.

Melanie describes herself as adventurous, but flying Cessnas and ultralites, and skydiving have now given way to more earthbound hobbies. As an avid photographer, she is proud to have taken award winning photographs. She loves singing in her contemporary worship ensemble, performing in local civic theater, and playing golf.

Being a former electronics engineer led the way for Melanie to utilize her degree in Marketing, and spent many years as the director of Sales and Marketing for an industrial electronics company. Wanting also to diversify, she and her husband began several Limited Liability Corporations for their growing real estate investments. As a Commercial Real Estate Investor exclusively now, she has that precious time to spend with their two young sons.

As a devoted volunteer Melanie serves her community in various ways. She assists many local charities including area children’s hospital off campus family housing, and an organization that sends children with HIV to summer camp. She is an event promoter for local public broadcasting television, a fashion model for non-profit fundraisers, an arts teacher, and a women’s ministries coordinator. She feels that volunteering offers a sense of accomplishment and enrichment, and she hopes to inspire others to give of themselves as well.

Melanie believes in the famous quote, “Live Your Best Life Now”. Nurturing our own three pillars of health, Mind, Body, and Spirit, helps us to achieve our own best life, and provides us the nourishment we need to be ready to help others.

As the International Mrs. Queen of Queens 2009, Melanie hopes women will realize and maximize their potential. Her best advice is to always believe in the person that God has made you. With this belief, and with knowledge, awareness, and perseverance, we can all be empowered to reach our goals and to dream beyond them.
