On our
road of life each of us will set out to reach many goals and
achievements, but it’s never the destination that is the most
important part, it’s each of those journeys that has helped us
along, has made us stronger and has made us who we are
today.
As your
International Queen of Queens 2008, I set out on my quest to
reach further than I had before to those in need. The
opportunities I have experienced, the people I have met along
the way and the lessons I have learned are ones that I will
cherish and carry with me for the rest of my life.
As this
chapter of my life comes to a close, a new one has just begun,
and I can only hope that it is both as challenging and
rewarding as this one has been. I would like to thank
Lacey and the staff of the International Queen of Queens
Pageant for allowing me this opportunity. As I pass the torch
(or Tiara!) to my successor, I wish to also pass on a few
words of wisdom;
1. Be
proud of not only what you are but WHO you are, your
confidence is one of your most important assets.
2. Your
crown and your sash are your tickets into worlds you might
never experience otherwise. Take every opportunity you are
presented with!
3. And
most importantly, there is no title too big or too small. It’s
what you do with it that makes all the difference.
I wish
only the best of luck to you all, congratulations to all of
our new queen and remember; all that glitters is not
rhinestone, it’s you ;)
Best
Wishes,
Marissa J.
